The internet is a buzz that Sony has picked their Spider-Man, and its all based on the say so of one site. There is no confirmation just yet, but if its true the leaked info says that Jamie Bell will be the next Spider-Man
The site Bleeding Cool is reporting that multiple sources have told them that actor Jamie Bell has been tapped to star in Sony’s reboot of Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb. If you’ll recall, he was on the shortlist reported a couple weeks ago. (Along with Andrew Garfield; Alden Ehrenreich; Frank Dillane; and Josh Hutcherson.)
I wasn’t really taken by anyone on that short list, but Jamie Bell was the last guy I would have picked. He plays the rough outsider well, but the nerdy awkward Parker? I just don’t see it.
Furthermore, the reboot was said to have an established teen Spidey still in highschool and exploring more of what the original series glossed over. Perhaps they are ditching that angle and going with a 20 something Spidey. This guy can’t pass for a teenager, and will be almost 2 years older by the time this comes out.
This is all wild speculation based on one site saying they are on to the scoop, so we will have to see, but I hope its wrong.
