The middle of July is the battleground on which the family friendly Sorcerer’s Apprentice will face off against Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Inception.
But Disney has jumped the gun and will now move the release from the 16th where Inception will launch to the premptive strike known as Wednesday on the 14th!
A slight change to the summer schedule very quietly leaked out of the House of Mouse several days ago. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which was slated to have a head-to-head showdown with Inception on July 16th, has jumped it up a couple days and will now be released on July 14th.
Honestly, if there is one thing we have learned here at TMB is that you never underestimate the value of a family friendly film. Remember the Squash.
But even Disney wants to hedge that bet and get a jump on Inception and frankly I am thankful. This makes my week easier to manage if I can get to both of these films without having to do a double header that weekend!
I predict that Sorcerer’s Apprentice will win out in the end, but its going to be a big weekend!
