As Dakota Fanning has proven to me, child actors CAN grow up. They don’t remain in that 8-10 window forever.
Haley Joel Osment is another one of these anomolies that my brain cant seem to picture with a driver’s license.
What? He is 22? And playing a teacher in the upcoming comedy Sex Ed??
In Sex Ed, Osment will play a recent college graduate hired to teach algebra. But through a series of wacky misadventures (crippling budget cuts), Osment’s character ends up teaching a sex ed class. The only catch is that he’s a virgin. Those who can’t do, teach.
Osment still has those boyish good looks and while he has been MIA for at least three years, the last thing I saw him in was Pay it Forward, and he was the voice of Sora in the Kingdom Hearts games, in which his voice still seemed pretty prepubescent so that’s not helping either.
But for him to be a virgin teaching sex ed is perfect. Like that line in Sister Act 2 when the nun is teaching sex ed and says “You don’t have to taste the donut to know its sweet”
