X-Men: First Class is shaping up to have quite the cast. Matthew Vaughn’s reboot already includes James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. Nicholas Hoult, Alice Eve, Caleb Landry Jones, Aaron Johnson and even Kevin Bacon, who was previously reported as being in negotiations, are on board too. Today we get the latest on who’s joining the cast…
Jennifer Lawrence, the actress who’s been getting rave reviews for her work in “Winter’s Bone,” has been cast as Mystique in Fox’s “X-Men: First Class.”
The role is a big jump in terms of exposure for Lawrence, who is generating awards buzz for “Winter’s Bone,” and also marks her first studio feature. The actress is about to topline thriller “The House at the End of the Street,” which begins production in Ottawa in August, and will then segue to England for “X-Men.”
The CAA-repped actress also appears in “The Beaver,” the Jodie Foster-directed movie starring Mel Gibson.
I’m liking the whole cast. The movie is starting to get the ball rolling really fast. I like that. Personally, I’m not familiar with Lawrence’s work so far. So I’ll let you guys tell me about her. She certainly looks the role/character.
What do you guys think?
