If child rapist and fugitive Roman Polanski can have supporters, then why not Lindsay Lohan?
After her weepy confession that she thought her efforts to work with children in South America was enough to excuse her from court ordered treatment for substance abuse didn’t get her off the hook, Lohan will be putting her career on hold.
But while people speculated that her lead role in Inferno:The Linda Lovelace Story would go to someone else, Matthew Wilder says he will wait.
LA Times caught up with “Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story” director Matthew Wilder to find out if he will be replacing Lohan in order to begin filming. “Not moving on, not re-casting, not under any circumstances,” said Wilder.
The director added that the production is “fully financed, prepared to go” but is “fully committed to Lindsay,” which means that filming will have to wait until she completes her period behind bars and her treatment.
Tarantino has also publicly stated that he would use her in a film again, after she just finished shooting her role in Machete.
Interestingly enough. Its the actors that have potential that people get most upset about when they hear about these party lifestyles and substance abuse. Actors who have been vocal about Lohan typically bash her diva attitude, not her skill.
Does anyone care when Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton party themselves crosseyed? No. That is their career. Be party girls and gossip fodder.
I still think these celebs get off easy with their “punishments” but 90days is a lifetyle to an actress who could lose a film or two for it. So there is a bigger picture to these sentences.
Hopefully the jail time (likely to be cushy – but far below her living standards) and the support of those who believe in her will turn her around.
