Star Trek Sequel Starts Filming January 2011

The Enterprise crew will start their newest mission early next year. Director J.J. Abrams will once again guide the Enterprise crew; Chris Pine (Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock) and the rest of the cast are expected to come back for the sequel. Nothing is known regarding the film’s plot. The only thing we know for now, is that it has a release schedule of June 29, 2012. Moviefone reports:

Bruce Greenwood revealed that Paramount plans to begin principal photography on the ‘Star Trek’ sequel in January. The actor was being interviewed at the red carpet premiere of Paramount’s ‘Dinner For Schmucks’ when he shared the news.

“I just know that the plan is to film it in January, more than that, I don’t know,” he said.

This is good news. The Star Trek reboot was a complete success. Personally, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I can’t wait too see what Abrams and his writers come up with for this sequel. Are they going to go with totally original stuff? Are they going to revisit past storylines/villains but with a new angle, now that they’ve altered history? Can’t wait…

What do you guys think? What do you want them to do story-wise? What villain/villains should they do?
