The green light is flashing over one project at Warner Brothers and we know only a little bit about it. The movie is World War X, and judging by the premise, the X doesn’t mean 10, but rather an unknown quality. And not to be confused with World War Z, the zombie novel also in the works.
The studio is already planning the launch of World War X, a film “centered on a man recruited by a team of government agents to stop a terrorist from the future who is using time travel to reshape history.”
This really has a Time Cop kind of feel to it, without the organization to monitor the timestream.
The problem with Time Travel Films is that its so hard to make sense of them without creating a paradox. So few movies have managed to do that without screwing it up. Some just have a few oversights that are forgivable for the sake of the film. Others just don’t care what they are messing up.
Little more than the synopsis is known, so I will reserve anticipation until I hear more about it.
