IGN has a new featurette of Resident Evil Afterlife.
I like how he says they didn’t want the 3D to be such a gimmick, but the trailer is filled with lots of that “stuff flying in your face” kind of gimmicky 3D.
But 3D is made for visual films, and Resident Evil is certainly one of those films you go to in order to see visuals. Milla is effective as a female action hero and is beautiful to boot, so it is an effective use of the tool.
But I wish 3D films would stop deliberately throwing things at the screen to get an audience reaction. That is gimmick.
