When people saw preview trailers of Devil, they thought it looked pretty interesting – until they saw who wrote it and it was all over. This is not a new occurance, and M.Night Shymalan’s films have declining in popularity the more he makes.
College Humour looks at a new (fake) film that explores why. And yes… there is a twist.
I really do feel bad for the guy, but he took one storytelling technique that was incredibly well placed and turned it into a gimmick and a running gag. He really needed to get away from “the twist” endings. Its all he seemed to have going for him.
Hopefully Devil is better and restores some faith and ability in the guy who managed to bring us Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.
