Bruce Willis has been talking Die Hard again, and with action nostalgia being high, it is appropriate for him to consider it.
And it seems 6 is the new 3, as he wants to round out the series with six films before retiring the character.
“In the next few years they could easily find a replacement for me or call the character someone else,” he told FHM. “But for me, I want to do ‘Die Hard 5,’ then one final ‘Die Hard’ movie – ‘Die Hard 6’ – before finally hanging that white vest up for good.”
Willis continued: “At the moment, I can run and I can fight on screen. But there will come a time when I no longer want to do that. That’s when I’ll step away from the ‘Die Hard’ films.”
Now him wanting to do them doesn’t mean they will happen but I hope so.
I hope so. I have always enjoyed the Die Hard films and I think that when Willis gives up on them, then so will the studio.
There is no “bigger world” where another cop could carry on the crazy circumstances his John McClane finds himself in. Without John McClane, there is no Die Hard. It would just be another cop film.
So bring on another few Die Hards while we still have Bruce doing cartwheels.
