Dakota Fanning is in talks to play another musician, this time in a supernatural thriller that has a young girl facing her mortality after an accident and choosing whether to return to the land of the living or move on into the hereafter.
Based on Gayle Forman’s young adult novel, the story revolves around a gifted musician (Dakota Fanning), and her boyfriend, a rising indie rock star.
Mulling the choice between her art and her relationship, things get tougher when a fatal car accident leaves her stuck considering the choice between life and death.
She did just recently star in a “I am not 8 years old” role as a very turbulent and sexy provocative rock star, and now she intends to play another musician? Granted the plot is hardly similar to Cherry Bomb but the musician angle is there nonetheless.
Fanning has proven herself to be growing into her roles and for a child actor to not migrate into a teen actor is rare. She seems to have avoided the highschool genre and Travelling Pants films entirely.
I look forward to seeing what they do with it.
