Depp In Talks To Star Opposite Tom Hanks

Johnny Depp is one of the best actors of our generation. How about having him playing off one of the best actors of all time in the same film?

Collider reports:

Johnny Depp is in talks to star opposite Tom Hanks in Paramount’s Triple Frontier, a crime drama set to be directed by The Hurt Locker’s Kathryn Bigelow. The film is about the organized crime in the border areas between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina. The script was written by Mark Boal, who won an Oscar for his Hurt Locker screenplay. Boal and Bigelow are producing with Charles Roven. According to Deadline, Boal’s script features five main roles; Hanks and Depp are eying the two major leads.

Wow. This would be insanely awesome. We’ve got Boal’s screenplay, Bigelow directing and possibly Depp and Hanks starring in a crime drama driven story? Count me in. Oh, and the script features five main roles? Imagine other great actors joining in for the spots left. This could become a great production. I hope Depp signs up for this one. It has great potential.

What do you guys think? Depp and Hanks together, directed by Bigelow – You like? Dislike? Why?
