Jeremy Piven, more recently famous for his role on Entourage has joined the cast of Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World and he will play the badguy.
Obsessed with Film shares
Piven is playing the film’s villain, known as The Timekeeper (coincidentally, also the name of Cillian Murphy’s villainous character in the forthcoming Andrew Niccol movie), which alongside the title Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World suggests that the next installment of the franchise will have something to do with either (a) time travel or (b) the ability to freeze time.
The Spy Kids franchise grew thin on me, and while they jumped on the 3D bandwagon before Avatar made it all the rage, the films were clearly aimed at a younger audience (though I did appreciate Carla Gugino)
The original Spy Kids Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara will return alongside Danny Trejo and Antonio Banderas (who seem to have a contract to star in anything Rodriguez makes if they like it or not) to head up the re-activated Spy Kids program that was canceled the moment that Alexa Vega got out of her training bra.
