Zoolander 2 Script Done; Roles For Ben Stiller And Johan Hill

We all know how much fans have wanted a sequel for both Anchorman and Zoolander throughout the years (I’m one). Although no new information has been heard about a sequel to Anchorman, apparently Zoolander 2’s script is already done.

JoBlo reports:

MTV caught up with writer Justin Theroux, who has a draft of the script done for the film which is allegedly supposed to be released in 2012. This is all news to me.

Where will find Hansel and Derek in the sequel?

“It’s too funny — it’ll blow your mind,” the writer/director said, though he did share the plot’s starting point, in which Stiller’s Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson’s Hansel find themselves pushing 40 and no longer the white-hot center of the fashion world. “[W]e start off with them in a pretty bad place,” he said. “They’re about to ring 40’s bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another.”

As for the return of Mugatu? It just might happen.

“Fingers crossed, anything is possible in Hollywood, but I think you’re going to see Mugatu. We are planning on seeing Mugatu,” he told us. “There are a couple new villains that step onto the stage, which we are all very happy about. And yes, Jonah (Hill) is the inspiration for one of them.”

Can’t wait for this. Never understood why this didn’t get done years ago. The premise discussed by Theroux seems pretty interesting and funny. I know, that if they manage to include the same core cast of the original, and add some new faces (villains), this sequel could be funny too. Looking forward to it getting made. Zoolander is a classic.

You up for a Zoolander sequel? Do you like the premise? What would you have wanted them to do plot wise?
