Seems Adrien Brody has been busy with the law seeking an injunction to block the sales of a movie he was in. Sounds odd to hear an actor fighting against a movie he stars in, but in this particular case, he wasn’t paid.
The actor appeared in a Dario Argento feature called Giallo in 2008 but never received payment for his work. Therefore, he took the filmmaker and his producers to court requesting that they ban all DVD sales or promotions that feature the actor’s image in the movie. According to AP, the law sided with Brody and the film’s release has been stopped in the States.
I am pretty sure it was a cut and dry case since terms of his contract specifically state “expressly granted the absolute right to withhold consent to the use of his likeness in the picture until he was paid the full amount of the $640,000 that he deferred.”
Absolute right. Those exact words.
So the movie gets pulled, gets some free publicity and Adrien sits on it til he gets paid.
Sounds fair.
Still not interested in watching it, so I wont miss it on the shelves.
