Wolverine in X-Men First Class?

With filming of X-Men First Class taking place in Georgia on Jekyll Island, we get some speculation that Hugh Jackman may have some involvement in the film as a cab driver claims to have driven the Wolverine star to report to the set.

Live for Films shares:

Word from a taxi driver in Georgia seems to suggest that Jackman has already been on set at Jekyll Island where they are currently filming.

I drove Hugh Jackman from X-Men To the Airport this morning. They are filming on Jekyll…Cool guy!

The character is somewhat ageless as illustrated in Wolverine Origins, so for a film that is set in the 60s of the X-Men Universe, it is safe to say that he could make an appearance.

My concern is that while they were standing on the shoulders of those who worked before them, they were too busy figuring out if they could, they didn’t stop to think about if they SHOULD!

Ok, enough with my Jurrassic Park Goldblum rant…

I don’t know if I am upset about them potentially placing Wolverine in the movie, as long as he is in a cameo and just crosses paths with the characters.

The three X-Men films revolved around Wolverine already, and I was looking forward to some X-Films without him in it to have a lot more story that isn’t about Wolverine.

But if Jackman was brought in for a role or a cameo, he will be once again a part of an X-Film. And as much as I want to see something tie this movie in with the current films, I wish it wasn’t Wolverine.

  1. In origin,Cyclops didn’t see wolverine (he got something on his eye)
and for First-class,charles xavier and Magneto found wolverine but… he said to not involve with him so he is in the film but only 5 second.

  2. First of all this movie was okay to watch. But in the comics these weren’t the originals, and professor x and magneto met in concentration camps.

This movie had nothing to do with the other x men movies

Mystique didn’t know the professor as a child

    1. This is a movie… not the comics.

They don’t have to adhere to the exact storylines in the comics and never claimed to. The movies are an entirely different story of the X-Men. It has its own cannon. You could spend all day long illustrating the differences between the comics and the movies. NONE of them have held true to any of the character’s comic histories and never claimed to.

And this movie is directly related to the other X-Men movies.

Also, in the comics Xavier and Magneto did NOT meet in a concentration camp. He first met Xavier while travelling in Israel while tracking down a stash of Nazi gold – well after World War 2 and well after surviving the camps.

  3. I like Wolverine, don’t get me wrong, and Jackman is a good actor. I also love banana splits with vanilla and strawberry icecream, but you don’t see me eating them exclusively. Sometimes, too much of a good thing just gets bland, and that will certainly be the case here.

Its bad enough they already butchered the story in Origins….

  4. The First Class comic books have a lot of wolverine in them, one of my favorite parts of the series is when Wolverine and the professor are running through his memories to try and remember his past. the First Class film would be dumb without showing some wolverine and i’m glad its hugh jackman because the Marvel books are all about continuity and I know the films really lack that part of the Marvel universe but using hugh jackman makes me appreciate the effort more.

    1. But this is not the First Class comic. Despite the similarities in the name, the roster and storyline is completely different.

In the film, the characters primarily in the comic are introduced much later in Xavier’s story, and Wolverine meets them all for the first time in X-1

  5. Could it be just Hugh Jackman visiting the set, or pull a Wolverine cameo gag like when Spider-Man joined the X-Men in the first film? (The famous joke, seen in the gag reel on the first “X-Men” DVD)

The only thing I can see is if Prof X makes Cerebro, and “Wolverine” is among the “located”. Because this otherwise would retcon some of “XO: Wolverine” as well. How? Well, if we see Jackman as his X character, don’t we have to see Creed too, given the timeline?

  6. This whole thing is a little odd, I mean with the 3 X-films that came before and then we get a Origins Flick w/ Wolverine running into Gambit, a Young Cyclops, and whatnot. I get that he loses his memory at the end of “Origins” and this set’s up the first X-men films nicely. But what about Cyclops? did he see Wolvie in “Origins”? cause in X-1 he acted like he didnt know him. so this would be a little odd to have him in a 60’S era film and have Cyclops in it as well. I dont know really what year Origins was supposed to take place but Cyclops was a teen then. Maybee we’ll get a Fetus Cyclops or somethin’.
    Just sayin’

    I’m confused! Help me Rodney

    1. There is some vague “reboot” being suggested with First Class, and I don’t know exactly how it fits in with the existing films.

But Scott’s brother Alex Summers is cast, (Lucas Till) but so far there is no mention of Scott Summers at all. Likely because he is not a part of the “first class”

This deals with many of the characters that are much older or never mentioned in the films yet.

      1. This movie will be a flop, it has nothing to do with the last flim and the other before that and also x-men with wolverine is like fast and the furious without Dom No Good!
