CG ghosts, even the friendly ones based on children’s comics, never age. But films do, and, not counting a few DTV films and animated shows, it’s been a little over fifteen years since we see seen ol’ Casper. Seems someone wants to resurrect the little fella.
Dark Horizons gives us the skinny:
Classic Media is in talks with Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures to develop a new live-action film based on the Harvey Comics strip ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’
It sounds like a direct sequel to the 1995 film. Especially if the original studio and production company is involved. But it also could be a whole new reboot too. It would be neat if it wasn’t, because it really doesn’t have to be. Still, I’m sure someone out there wants The Friendly Ghost back on a big screen.
Are you one of them?
