I really enjoyed Bruce Willis in RED, a comic book adaptation adventure film just filled with personality. And the movie did really well for itself so it makes sense that they would eye a potential sequel… which they have officially started on.
Turns out that they have hired the original writers to pen the sequel, which officially kicks off the first stages of pre-production.
Writers Erich and Jon Hoeber will nugget out another bunch of bad guys for Frank Moses (Willis) to machine gun and giant explosions to oversee. As he and his team of ex-operatives proved, retirement needn’t just be about lawn bowls and pottering about in the azeleas.
No official word yet on whether all of the original cast will return, or if Robert Schwentke has been rehired to direct
Aside from RED ending with a suggestion that they were off another mission, the movie seemed complete to me. But if they can repeat the charm of the film in a sequel than I am all for it. I was satisfied with RED, but who wouldn’t want more of that kind of silly fun?
