Weekend Boxoffice Report February 4th-6th

Another light week amidst many areas suffering from unseasonal weather issues, and up against a SuperBowl Sunday, it looks like The Roomate managed to grab that top spot with a healthy lead on James Cameron’s underwater thriller Sanctum.

Boxoffice Mojo reports the estimates:

The Roommate – $15,600,000 – Opening
Sanctum – $9,225,000 – Opening
No Strings Attached – $8,400,000 – 3wks
The King’s Speech – $8,310,000 – 11wks
The Green Hornet – $6,100,000 – 4wks

What surprises me is that The King’s Speech is STILL sitting in a cozy and respectable spot in the Top 5 after 11 wks in theaters. And to think they are considering editing it to earn a more family friendly rating in hopes of broadening its audience.

I really don’t see the need for that at all.

Did you get out this weekend, or was it all about the Superbowl?
