The Washington Post blogs:
Jane Russell made a generation of red-blooded American men prefer brunettes, even when she was playing a blonde. From her first appearance in “The Outlaw,” in which her beau Howard Hughes reportedly invented a bra designed just for her, to perhaps being the only woman in Hollywood who could hold her own against Marilyn Monroe, Russell was a force of God-given, beautiful, voluptuous nature. She died on Monday at the age of 89.
Here’s little tribute:
The Movie Blog gives condolences to her family, friends and fans young and old. RIP Ms. Russell.
