Channing Tatum movie about his stripper past

The man who wants to be Pan has decided that he also wants to delve into his personal history and air out his dirty laundry. Apparently it’s common internet knowledge that Channing Tatum was something of a dancer in his past, and I’m not just talking about his role in the movie “Step Up”. No, no, no, it’s much more sultry than that.

I’m sure most of you are aware of Channing Tatum’s “interesting” past. For those of you not in the know, Channing Tatum aka Chan Crawford, long before his days as an action hero was earning a living as an exotic dancer in a Chippendale-styled variety show in 1999. Eventually his past came out but it never seemed to really hurt his career in any way and now it appears its even going to further his career.

News has recently broke that director Steven Soderbergh, the man behind the ‘Ocean’s Eleven –Thirteen’ films, has been inspired by Tatum’s past for his next film. He released a statement saying, “When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using ‘Saturday Night Fever’ as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”

This could be fun. This could be really really fun. Something tells me that this Tatum guy has a bunch of great stories to share and this could be the start of something great. It could also be something awful, but only time will truly tell what’s in store for us. I like Tatum enough to give him a chance with some exploration in his craft and if something as personal as dancing naked is his segway into giving us fun movies than I’m all for it.
