RUMOR: Rachel Weisz in Oz the Great and Powerful

Rachel Weisz is one of those actresses that I almost never noticed. She managed to catch my attention due to her fun performance opposite Brendan Fraser in the Mummy and I was instantly mesmerized by their on screen chemistry in the first 2 films. Yes, she can thank Brendan Fraser for helping me notice her. Today I learned that she may assist James Franco, as the young Wizard, in becoming the Great and Powerful man he always claims to be.

Rachel Weisz may be headed to the land of Oz. ComingSoon.net has learned that the actress is close to landing the role of the evil witch Evanora in director Sam Raimi’s Oz, the Great and Powerful…

Mila Kunis is also attached in the role of Theodora, a good witch that Evanora attempts to bring to her side.

I have not watched a single Rachel Weisz movie after she decided not to return for the 3rd Mummy movie. I enjoyed that franchise too much for her to just decide to go and have a life that may have caused ripple effects still felt to this day.

On the other side of the equation I’m really beginning to like James Franco. A lot. I enjoyed Franco’s performance enough in the Spider-man movies but thought he was a little annoying. He’s been losing the “annoying” and picking up on the “popular” recently and if Weisz is working opposite of him then I might have to re-consider my “No Weisz” clause. I really don’t want to watch her but I really am interested in this movie. Man, this is gonna be tough…
