I like Don Cheadle as an actor. In fact I like him a lot and don’t really remember a movie where he delivered a disappointing performance. The folks at Marvel saw something special in him that they recast him for Iron Man 2 replacing Terrence Howard, and when Cheadle was recently quizzed on his future in Marvel’s movie endeavors he decided to share. A LOT.

Q: Are there any future Marvel movies that you might be appearing in?
DC: Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We’ll probably do that again in February and there’s talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.
Q: Will you be in The Avengers?
DC: Not this one that they’re shooting right now. Thank god!Q: Was that ever in the works?
DC: Me being in The Avengers? I have a contract to be in The Avengers but I’m glad they haven’t exercised that option yet. I need some down time.
That almost seemed like a jab at Terrence Howard! I’m sure it’s all in jest but it is interesting, and re-assuring, that he is under the impression that IM3 will begin filming in February. I love learning stuff from loose lips! He had something in his contract to appear in Avengers but they didn’t exercise it? Does Joss know this? I’m all for a vacation, but I love the idea of adding talent! Someone call Joss and let him know that this guy is under contract.
