Yung is probably best known for her kick-ass portrayal of Tao in Patrick Alessandrin’s sequel District 13: Ultimatum, where she was a tattooed hard nut who took on corrupt cops and fought most notably using a knife in her ponytail.
She’s wanted to play Jinx, a young woman from California who discovers family ties to a ninja clan during a trip to Japan and becomes a fully-fledged member after showing off her martial arts prowess. She’s recruited to the military team by fellow ninja Snake Eyes.
I’m told Johnson is in discussions with Paramount to join G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. That’s the overhauled sequel that’ll be directed by Jon M. Chu, who helmed Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Johnson’s role is a character named Roadblock.
I don’t have a problem with either of these casting rumors. The Rock can act. He is better in some parts than others, but he is far and away the best thespian that the WWF/WWE ever produced. Better yet, he’s not too bad in an action role.
I, regrattably, admit that I have not seen District 13. Put down the pitch forks and torches and put those to better use, (like with LeBron James jersey’s), as I am sure I will catch this well recommended film in the near future. What do you guys think of adding what the Rock and Elodie are cooking to some G.I. Joe goodness? Better than Marlon Wayans?
