It’s no secret that I’ve had a fascination with Tarantino’s proposed next movie in which he will be crafting a ‘spaghetti western’ type of picture. There have been a couple of megastars already mentioned as possible casting choices with today’s rumored casting falling in line as a “bankable star“.

The word arrives straight from the actor himself, via his newly-launched Twitter account. “Well it’s safe to let the cat out of the bag,” Fassbender writes, replacing an earlier, removed Tweet wherein he let the news slip, “But I’ve signed on to Quentin’s new project.” The film tells the revenge-driven story of a freed slave, Django, who under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter, becomes a bounty hunter himself, driven to track down his wife, still a slave, and liberate her from an evil plantation owner. The actor appears to have joined Twitter this morning as part of the promotion for his just-released X-Men: First Class
For those wondering I put “RUMOR” in the subject because the news comes from a now deleted tweet from a now deleted Coming Soon.net post. I like this news and it seems fairly believable. I’ll keep an eye out for more news, but in the meantime I advise you take this with a few grains of salt until something more official comes our way.
