Ya know, I was obviously in the minority in thinking that David O. Russell might have made a good Uncharted movie. Sure, he was gonna change the hell out of the movie, but what good adaptation doesnt? Well, he dropped out of the project a few months ago. I think it had something to do with you guys and your feedback. Either way, it’s opened the door for another director with another vision, and that director is Limitless’ own Neil Burger.

Once David O. Russell dropped out of the UNCHARTED adaptation, Sony’s been looking for a new director to take over the project, and according to Variety, it looks like they’ve found him. It’s Neil Burger, director of the recent LIMITLESS, a riff on the superhero genre, which was actually quite good.
That’s a helluva rebound director! I really liked that limitless movie, flaws and all, but I really liked it. He also directed The Illusionist and has Bride of Frankenstein in production so I think he might be able to grasp the genre. Now, I expect changes as I’m pretty sure few directors in Hollywood, that I foresee, will ever do a panel by panel or pixel by pixel adaptation of an existing property. With this in mind, what do you think of Mr. Burger taking on the project?
