I finally caved and watched the trailer and TV spot for the upcoming Brett Ratner movie “Tower Heist”. I’d been pretty apprehensive because of Ratner’s hit or miss record with me and Eddie Murphy. I watched it and I laughed. A few times. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a bit skeptical but take a look at it for yourself and you’ll kinda get the impression I got.
The TV spot isn’t as good as the trailer, but both gave me glimpses of something that could be great. I think Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy make a pretty good comedic couple and they seem to have some chemistry from what we could see. Not only them but the rest of the cast gives me hope that it’ll be one of Ratner’s better movies, and quite possibly… the return of the funny Eddie Murphy. I know, I’m still apprehensive about that guy but if he’s being genuine about making an effort to return to greatness than this may be the first step in the right direction.
Yeah, it’s on my radar and I’m looking forward to seeing this. Who knew?
