We’ve known for a while that Star Wars was making a return to the big screen shortly after the Blu Ray release of the entire series. What we haven’t seen before was a trailer for the 3D re-releases… until now:
That was really underwhelming. I’m not sure what I should have expected considering that I’ve seen all of this footage countless times but I had hoped for a better showing. It’s also interesting that the trailer is completely in 2D which still leaves me in the dark as to how much these movies will appreciate from the 3D post conversion process. I got back a lot of the good feelings I had since my first viewing of Darth Maul and I’m excited about the opportunity to see his bad ass on the screen again, and maybe some of the pod racing, but overall there’s not a lot of enticement to see this movie again except for the fact that in order to see the original trilogy get the post conversion process the prequels need to succeed financially. So if this trilogy fails to attract an audience we won’t see any of those epic battles from the original trilogy in the 3rd dimension. What a dilemma…
