Sherlock Holmes 3 has a writer

It’s becoming less and less surprising when I hear of news of a sequel to a movie that has yet to be released, and such is the case when it comes to a 3rd entry in the Sherlock Holmes film series. It was just announced that a writer has been hired to draft up a script for the potential 3rd film:

Deadline reports that Warner Brothers has hired Drew Pearce to write SHERLOCK HOLMES 3, two months before SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS will hit theaters.

Pearce has been writing IRON MAN 3, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., and wrote the monster movie PACIFIC RIM for Guillermo del Toro.

I thought the first movie was a lot of fun and really enjoyed a lot of the interactions between RDJ’s Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law’s Watson. If the new movie is any bit as enjoyable as the first movie then I certainly welcome the idea of these guys working on the 3rd entry so that it can released soon-ish. Can’t wait to see the 2nd movie and I’ll be sure to share any more news of this 3rd entry as it’s available.
