Anthony LaPaglia joins Django Unchained

I can barely remember when a week goes by without another casting addition for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and lo and behold we have another. Today’s addition of LaPaglia is a welcome one as he’ll be able to re-adopt his aussie accent for his purported role:

Anthony LaPaglia has joined Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained cast. LaPaglia will play the leader of a group of greedy Australians who encounter slave-turned-bounty hunter Django (Jamie Foxx) as they are escorting a group of slaves recently purchased as fighters. LaPaglia said he and Joseph Gordon Levitt will play mean brothers, and LaPaglia said he was bowled over by the script. “It’s wildly ambitious and imaginative, deals with that subject matter in a way it hasn’t been dealt with before,” LaPaglia told me. “The way the cast has shaped up, it’s exciting to be involved.”

Interesting role. JGL? Did I miss his casting inclusion? Won’t he be a bit busy filming ‘Lincoln’ with Spielberg next year? A bit surprised about this one as Tarantino has a bonafide cocophony of A-level talent to help create this movie. It’s really starting to turn my excitement up for this movie and just bumped this one up a few notches on the ol radar.
