It’s no secret that another installment into the Transformers franchise will be a reality. See when movies make the kinda money that Transformers 3 made, in this economy no less, than it pretty much seals and guarantees that another film in the franchise will try to recreate the success. Many people have had their say about a 4th Transformers movie in the months since the release of Dark Side of the Moon and one very important man’s opinion on subject has just been heard as Mr. Spielberg has declared that he thinks Bay should stay in the directors’ chair.

“I hope so, because I think he made the best of the three with this last one. I certainly can’t imagine anybody other than Michael being equipped to make another ‘Transformers.’ He’s invented a genre and he’s got the secret formula” said Spielberg.
Despite mixed criticisms of the storytelling I have to admit that I really enjoyed all three Transformer films and the experience provided by watching them in the IMAX. They have their faults, but they also have their charms so it’s with a heavy heart that I have to respectfully disagree. I love the movies for what they’ve been thus far but I, personally, would love to see the world and characters of Transformers from a different standpoint. Very few directors can make things ‘splode like Bay does and I do feel that his cinematography goes together with Autobots like peanut butter and motor oil but I think I’m bored with his approach. It’s not bad, it’s just a bit predictable at this point and I think a different director could possible shake things up for the best.
Either way, Bay has stated that he’s not currently interested in pursuing the idea of directing another entry but he’s willing to reconsider after completing other projects and recharging the batteries.
