It seems the 1976 classic Logan’s Run is getting the remake treatment, and they already found their Logan as Ryan Gosling has signed on for the job.
Oscar-nominated Ryan Gosling, who you most recently saw alternately charm and bewilder Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine, has signed on to star in an updated Logan’s Run,
I really like Ryan Gosling as an actor, and what actually surprises me is that he would be staring in a sci-fi remake.
He has made a solid name for himself in drama and romance films despite his start as a teen as slacker charmer on Breaker High and Young Hercules (playing a younger Kevin Sorbo no less)
But Logan’s Run is not standard blow-em-up adventure sci-fi, but rather an insightful look at a flawed utopian society (where life must end at 30 – Gosling’s current age)
I am really curious to see what comes of this.
The real gem of the story, is that Nicolas Winding Refn is set to direct. I love Gosling, but Refn in the director’s chair makes me even more excited for this project.
I like it when a talented actor (a la Christian Bale) ventures from the independent (or low budget) fare to something more mainstream…every now and then. Can’t wait to see his performance.
I like Gosling. I loved Logan’s Run. This should be good.
I heard they were going to make it closer to the book so Logan 3 would have to be 21, guess thats means they aren’t and going to keep it closer to Michael Anderson’s version
I thought they were going that route too. Rather would see Ryan anyways.
