Neal McDonough says ‘Captain America 2’ might start filming this year

There’s quite a few rumors making the rounds on the web today. A few of them are related to the filming schedules for some of the Avengers’ solo movies and Neal McDonough, who played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America, says that Captain America 2 is slated to start filming this year.

“Yeah, they’re planning (to go into production for) Captain America 2 for the end of this year, because Marvel does one film at a time. So they’re going to do Thor 2 and as soon as Thor has wrapped, they’ll do Cap 2.”

Very interesting. No wonder Chris Evans was apprehensive to take on the role of Cap, he hasn’t put doesn’t get a second to put down his damn shield. Gotta love those binding contracts. I’m game and I’m glad that Johnston has one of those contracts for at least 1 more movie as well.

Interestingly enough McDonough didn’t stop talking there and went on to discuss his hopes for the Nick Fury film.

“Hopefully right after that, we’ll jump into Nick Fury because that’s the one I’m looking forward to more than anything, because it’ll be me and Sam Jackson. In the real Marvel universe, Dum Dum Dugan is Nick Fury’s right hand man. I just pray that they have a 1970s setting, because I want to see Sam Jackson with lambchops kicking people’s asses for Marvel universe. It would just be awesome. And to work with Sam would be a treat. We’ve become friendly over the years.”

Sam Jackson with some chops for sideburns while kicking ass with McDonough? Uh huh. Yep, I like that. Somebody make that happen. I like the way he’s thinking… Somebody give him a raise too.
