Nicholas Cage MIGHT join Dark Highway

I like when Nicholas Cage is a little off-kilter in his films. Seriously, when the man’s character in film is a bit disturbed, deranged, and just has a few screws loose than he just seems to be able to produce some outstanding performances. We may have another one of those films coming if everything falls into place…

Souce: Dread Central

According to the Chronicle Herald, Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider, Season of the Witch, Wicker Man) is close to landing the lead role in Dark Highway, Bruce McDonald’s follow-up genre film to the glorious Pontypool.

“Now it’s all about timing and everybody’s schedule,” McDonald says of when shooting might begin.

The film is described as a supernatural thriller, and the “story follows a man being chased who is trying to get to a certain place in one day. He doesn’t know whether the situation is real or his imagination.”

Dark Highway was written by Christopher Kyle (Alexander, K19: The Widowmaker)…

Sounds liks this film is right up Cage’s alley and could bring back the Crazy-Cage we all know and love. I’m apprehensive to marry Cage to this flick, but I will remain optimistic. His bat-shit crazy ass needs to be in a movie like this, it’s been far too long a time that the masses have had to go without their sustenance…
