The Expendables 2 is PG-13… Thanks to Chuck Norris

UPDATE
**Sly Stallone has heard your rumblings about this film rating and has decided to offer some choice words to try to re-assure you about the quality of this film.**

Chuck Norris gets what he wants. Period. I will abstain from referencing those infamous jokes but they do exist for a reason. Today I found out that the Expendables 2 will be rated “PG-13”, down from an “R” that the previous film received.

“In ‘Expendables 2,’ there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this,” Norris said to Polish newspaper Gazeta. “I don’t star in movies like this. Because of that I said I won’t be a part of that if the vulgar language is not removed. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be rated PG-13.”

Chuck Norris. The man gets what he wants. Will this be a detriment to the film? Let me make this clear: If for one second you think that Chuck Norris’ involvement in this film will be a detriment to the franchise then you are insane and deserve a roundhouse to the groin. The R rating doesn’t make the movie, Chuck Norris does. Period. Now let’s bow and be grateful that he’s gracing us with his participation and presence.

**Update

It seems that Sylvester Stallone has become aware of all this chatter regarding the film rating and decided to chime in on the subject over at AICN. Check out what the man has to say:

“The PG13 rumor is true,” Stallone writes, “but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry.”

This is Die Hard 4 all over again…
