Coming Soon: A sequel for this years’ “Chronicle”

Earlier this year we received a pretty entertaining, yet unexpected, super powered found footage film “Chronicle”. It was a really entertaining film reminding us that a young man should not have that much power without at least a modicum of responsibility for the things he can do with them. The film itself was well received and managed to rake in over $100 million on a $15 million dollar budget. As is the rule with film a sequel must be made.

…as the movie crosses $100 million worldwide, the studio has decided to move forward with a sequel and according to Deadline writer Max Landis has been re-hired to work on the script.

No other details were given so it’ll probably be a while before any further developments happen. Chronicle director Josh Trank has been in demand following the successful release and we recently heard he may take on the Venom spin-off for Sony.

This is pretty cool news but one has to wonder what exactly they may have in mind with the story. It’s comforting that they’ve decided to re-hire Max Landis to help maintain the tone but my curiousity is surely piqued. We’ll see…
