Does the Lizard from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ look menacing enough to you?

We’ve seen glimpses and toys and just about everything else in between except the following: A clear full frontal shot of ‘The Lizard’. Today we have a hsot of something that might be used as a character poster for the film.

Let the Goomba jokes begin. Does he look menacing? Sure. Sorta. Kinda. The excuse is that he his appearance has to be changed from what’s used in the comics in order to work in film. I don’t buy that excuse but whatever. I don’t mind redesigns in the least I just hope that the changes work. I look at this guy and I’m stuck while firmly planted on the fence. In some aspects I really like what I see with the scales, size, and tail. Then I get to his face and get stuck with mixed emotions. I’m constantly drawn in by his eyes and how they look humane. I then wander to his teeth and realize that he’s been to a dentist. I wonder what this is and how can I be afraid of a blue eyed creature? I think it’ll be easier for merchandising when kids want Halloween costumes this year but I can’t shake the feeling that something is ‘missing’. Maybe a snout?

Either way this is the clearest look we’ve had of the character yet. I want to learn more about him. Something to help me accept his appearance rather than just comparing to the comics. You guys are the experts, what do you think? Is this a good look for the Lizard?
