Somehow, someway ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ found a way to capture excitement from me and put itself properly and proudly on my radar. Since that time I’ve actually changed my mind about this film (except for the costume) and think that this might be one of the surprise hits of the summer.
In actuality the film being a hit should not be a surprise to any of us. Sure it’s a new cast and director but the mainstream audiences don’t care. All they know is that a new Spider-Man movie is coming out and they’ll arrive in droves muttering to themselves ‘what took so long…’. Spider-Man 3 was critically panned worldwide but the film still pulled off a $890 million haul at the box office. Not bad for a bad film so Marc Webb and company seem to have a good springboard for their first showing together.
