A while back I’m pretty sure I posted that Chris Hemsworth was rumored for consideration of the He-Man film thats been in development hell for a decade or two. Every few years someone attached to the movie promises that the movie is real and will be made and cites some famous actor of the week as being rumored for the role. For some reason someone bothered Chris Hemsworth about the possibility and he actually obliged with a response:
“I can’t play He-Man, it’s pretty much Thor, isn’t it?” he said.
Hemsworth added that after playing Thor is several movies, it has become difficult for him to get certain roles. As a result, he doesn’t expect to be asked to play He-Man, and probably not any villains.
“I’d probably have to make more of an effort to get that kind of role,” he explained.
And there you have it folks. Thor already is He-Man, so what’s the point? I see the similarities and I understand his point there but it’s good to finally get some closure on this aspect of this rumored film and move on.
