Ghostbusters 3 has been a project that’s gone back and forth for some time now. Things finally looked like they were coming together until we unfortunately lost Harold Ramis. Whether or not losing Harold Ramis affected the film, it seems as though even a prominent cast member like Ernie Hudson remains uncertain on what’s happening with the film.
“I think we’re going to start shooting in the fall, or maybe the spring…once again, it kind of changes a bit…and I’m always reluctant to say anything because they tell me one thing and then it doesn’t happen. It’s unfortunate, you know, Harold is not here. Harold was the glue…he was amazing. He was an icon. So you’re going to get a Ghostbusters, but obviously it’s going to be a Ghostbusters without Harold. It’s going to be different. So it has to be original and it has to be something that is worth all the 30 years of waiting.”
– Ernie Hudson
If Ernie Hudson can’t get a clear answer on when he should show up for filming, I think that sends a bad message for the fans. We all tend to worry about a film if we hear the slightest bit of production trouble and Ghostbusters 3 has more trouble than a mishap on set, they can’t even decide on how or when they’re going to make the film. It may be time to just call it quits.
