Instant Classic. Those are words that were used to describe The Iron Giant when it was released waaaaay back in 1999. Brad Bird was a rather unknown at the time and Vin Diesel was only known for being a somewhat recognizable voice in Saving Private Ryan. Fast forward 15 or so years and we look back at this film as one of the most loved animations that didn’t have the house of mouse behind its creation. If you somehow managed to miss this film when it was oringinally released in theaters, home release, dozens of television airings and more then now’s your chance to enjoy this film with how it was intended to be seen. IN THEATERS. The Iron Giant is returning for 2 days courtesy of those fine folks at Warner Bros.:
“The Iron Giant: Signature Edition” will be rereleased in theaters across North America for a special Fathom Events screening on Wednesday, September 30, with an encore event on Sunday, October 4.
Signature Edition, eh? One has to wonder if there will be any Brad Bird sightings at these screenings. One can only hope.
