Do You Know What Really Grinds My Gears

You know what grinds my gears, film adaptions that change too much from the source material. Hell, I generally hate when movies change anything from the source material. Maybe, I am too young or too old, but I do not see the point. Those small aspects (and in some cases, big aspects) are the reasons why we fell in love with these characters in the first place. If those changes do not add to the character or story, leave it alone. Some people like to make the argument, ” well changes are necessary to appeal to a wider audience”. My answer to that is, “if someone does not like horror movies, they are not going to start liking horror movies because you changed a name, person, race, or gender. So, why do it in the first place!? Most film adaptions are based off of books taking place during the 1980s or earlier years usually. And, if we are being honest, these time periods are not the most socially acceptable of times for people. Women, Blacks, and Gays were either portrayed horribly or not all, and that sucks. But this constant need by the movie studio to rectify past actions of ignorant men is ludicrous. I take that back, the real reason movie studios do that is so the movie does not seem prejudice to a particular group because people are way too sensitive nowadays, but who cares what they think. If they are going to get up in arms about a race, gender, or group of people not being represented in a fictional film, these morons and their opinion do not matter. If they are going to get up in arms about a race, gender, and or group not being represented in non-fictional films, (you know the one based on real life), then they are… you guessed it! Morons and their opinions do not matter. Michael Clarke Duncan (R.I.P.), Peter Dinklage, everybody that was in Avatar: The Last Airbender and the hundreds of other films,  thank you for your time and effort, but it was not needed.
