I got this new trailer for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2: Sword of Destiny in my inbox a little while ago and I’m torn. On one hand I love the idea of revisiting this world and enjoying the art movie that was Crouching Tiger but on the other hand it’s been 15 years and I have to admit that I’m concerned about the treatment. Check out the new trailer:
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny tells an epic story of lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption, set against breathtaking action in an epic martial arts battle between good and evil that will decide the fate of the Martial World.
The trailer has a lot of great things going for it including the return of a lot of key actors, some awesome swordplay, and an interesting excuse idea for returning to the world. On the other hand… what the fuck is up with that music.
Observations:
- The wire work for the actors is thankfully just as cheesy and noticeable as ever
- WTF is up with that music
- The actors have barely aged a day
- The CGI scenes are bothersome
- Seriously, WTF is up with that music
Crouching Tiger 2 is having the honor of releasing on Netflix and in IMAX on February 26th.
