Todd Phillips made a huge impact when he directed The Hangover starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. We all saw the movie and most of us found the movie an unexpectedly hilarious film. I certainly didn’t see it coming and will openly admit that I saw the movie 2 more times while it was in theaters. Then he did the Hangover 2 and 3 and I kinda checked out since neither of those films recreated the experience of watching the first.
Todd Philips is back with a new movie starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller doing…? I have no idea what they’re doing as this movie doesn’t even have a title yet. This first image was released of the duo in a shooting range but is very non-descript but thanks to a snippet of info I found in Entertainment Weekly I’ve learned that the story somehow involves a government arms contract. The film is based on a 2011 Rolling Stone article and is based on a true story about two Miami guys who land a Pentagon contract to supply arms to Afghan forces. Hill’s character is based on Efraim Diveroli who pled guilty to conspiracy and sentenced to four years federal prison.
My expectations are high for this movie. The premise sounds pretty crazy, Miles Teller is a great actor, and Todd Phillips should find some rejuvenation in making a film without the trio from the Hangover. Let’s see where things go from here…
