I know there are some silly people out there that don’t understand the pure joy of watching a Purge movie but you guys are getting it all wrong! The purge is a constitutional right in this fictional world that helps maintain peace and prosperity 364 days of the year. It’s the civic duty of its’ citizens to ensure that they Purge in order to prevent random acts of violence most of the time. This new trailer for The Purge gives better insight into the plot and set pieces that will be used in this film.
There’s always an intimate narrative that the films follow but what’s also interesting is the underlying commentary of America in a sociopolitical sense. This particular movie places a politician front and center as the protaganist of the film too. It’s actually welcoming to see Frank Grillo in the role and I have some confidence that he’ll help keep the movie entertaining as he attempts to survive this seemingly apocalyptic world for 12 hrs. I think it’s my perfect balance of slasher/thriller/action movie and I’m looking forward to this one.
I enjoy the movies and this trailer does right by maintaining my interest and reminding me of its release in the busy summer season. Is this movie on your ‘radar’?
