I am a huge fan of foreign horror films, and am always disappointed when they don’t get the love they deserve here in North America. First instance, Spain’s zombie flick, ‘Rec’ will not be seen by most North American audiences. (They will probably witness the remake, ‘Quarantined’ before the original.) A l’interieur (Inside) is honestly one of the scariest films I have ever seen and it’s getting a direct to DVD release here.
That’s why it makes me happy to say that the Swedish vampire film, ‘Let The Right One In’ is going to get some theatrical release love here in North America after it premieres in Sweden this April.

Based on the best selling novel from Swedish writer John Ajvi Lindqvist, it is the story of two twelve year olds, Oskar and Eli, who have a budding romance plagued by a dark twist: Eli is a vampire.
Let the Right One In is scheduled to open in Sweden in April and Magnet has picked up rights to the North American distribution so I assume we’ll be seeing it later this year.
A movie about tween vampires that’s actually supposed to be scary? Sign me up for this one! The last vampire movie I saw that was helmed in Sweden, was the highly underrated ‘Frostbiten.’ So I’m ready to set my fangs into another Swedish vampire flick!
