Rosa Byrne has jumped aboard the train with Nick Cage for the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller Knowing. We get the scoop today from the fabled caves of yahoo:
Byrne will play the daughter of a woman who buried a 1962 time capsule bearing the dates of the assassinations of historical figures, the hotel fire death of the wife of a professor (Cage) and an imminent world apocalypse. After the professor discovers its contents and alerts her, the initially skeptical Byrne begins remembering strange incidents from her childhood. Alex Proyas (“I, Robot”) will direct.
I enjoy a good movie about the apocalypse and finding your prophet mothers time capsule full of predictions is as cool a place as any to unravel this tale. For some reason Nick Cage seems to belong in this story. If someone told me the plot of the film and asked me who should star in it, I would recommend him without hesitation.
Rose Byrne recently scored a Golden Globe for her performance in Damages. Following up the win with an apocalyptic sci-fi thriller is how I would celebrate too. There are people that every actress should strive to work alongside and Nick Cage is one of them. He has a unique style that can hit or miss depending, but he is his own man, and I never discount a film with him in it. For every National Treasure (sucks) there is a Face/Off (awesome).
No word yet on when Knowing will be in theaters, but we will be sure to keep you posted.
