Alec Baldwin has scored himself a role in an indy comedy that will be produced by Scorsese. We get the skinny from the professionals at Variety:
Alec Baldwin and Emma Roberts have boarded Derick and Steven Martini’s indie dramedy “Lymelife.” Cynthia Nixon, Rory Culkin, Kieran Culkin, Jill Hennessy and Timothy Hutton are also joining the cast. Martin Scorsese and Leonard Loventhal exec produce the project, which starts shooting next week in New Jersey.
Set in late ’70s Long Island, the coming-of-age story follows two families who fall apart when precarious relationships, real estate problems and Lyme disease converge in the heart of suburbia. The Martini brothers also penned the screenplay.
I hope this is more comedy than drama, because Alec Balwin is outstanding at the HAHA. Sadly he is never in enough comedies; and if they tease me with just a hint of his comedic talents in this film, I will be furious with blue balls,
I was just saying last week over a baguette that is is a shame that we don’t have more dramatic comedies that deal with the real issue of Lyme disease.
Speak of the devil and he will appear!
We will follow news of this film in hope of finding out further details. Stay tuned!
