John Lithgow Joins Shopaholic

Lithgow-ShopaholicThere are a LOT of women looking forward to this film adaptation of the popular series of “Shopaholic” books. The film already has Isla Fisher in the lead (something that i think is a mistake… but that’s just me) as well as John Goodman and Joan Cusack. Not a bad line up.

Well, the line up just got a bit more impressive as they have not only just added John Lithgow (this guy just RULES!) but also a bunch more as our friends over at Coming Soon point out:

Confessions of a Shopaholic has rounded out its casting, with John Lithgow, Kristin Scott Thomas, Leslie Bibb, Lynn Redgrave and Julie Hagerty joining the Disney/Bruckheimer Films romantic comedy, which stars Isla Fisher. Based on the best-selling novels by Sophie Kinsella and directed by P.J. Hogan, the film centers on a compulsive shopper (Fisher) in Manhattan up to her neck in debt who becomes a financial-advice columnist.

I’ve been a massive fan of Lithgow for decades. To me the man has never done wrong. Oh he’s been in some stinker films, but he’s always flat out entertaining to watch. I’m sure he’ll be one of the bright spots of Shopaholic. As a side note, my favorite Lithgow role was still as the bad guy in Cliffhanger. Long live the Lith!
