We learn of the upcoming John Waters picture Fruitcake thanks to the professionals at Variety:
The Wagner/Cuban Cos.’ 2929 Intl. has picked up worldwide sales rights to John Waters’ Johnny Knoxville-Parker Posey topliner “Fruitcake,” and is shopping the project at the Cannes film market. Waters’ Fruitcake is the story of a cheerfully weird ten-year-old boy who gets separated from his loving small-time crook parents on Christmas Eve.
I have to dig through this man’s entire library one day. The man is bizarre, twisted, peculiar and down right fantastic. Waters loves his home town of , warts and all, and uses it as a character in his films. His dedication to the land of his birth is inspiring and makes for a great trademark to his projects.
I will be sure to keep my ear to the ground for further news, and share it with all of you.
